So…
Today there was a panel about Islamic Feminism. I went to watch for moral support, as I knew the panelists speaking. It was, of course, amazing.
Afterwords, I spoke to professor and she was telling me how proud she was of me because I’m taking the initiative in collaborating a group for Palestinians and Israelis. She was telling me how she heard that the first meeting was a total fail because there were too many radical Zionist professors involved and made the whole meeting about how Israelis weren’t welcomed on campus. (which is a total lie)
Anyways, she said to me:
I am very proud of you. You being the minority there, representing your country and all…it must take a lot of courage for somebody to do that and try and negotiate.
I told her that it wasn’t courage, but passion.
